That's strange. I'm currently running watchOS 4.2 dev beta (build 15S102b) and I am being alerted to a software update - The official watchOS 4.2, I presume. It'll be interesting to see what the build number is after I've installed it.

Update: The difference between the builds is that the official watchOS version is the same as the above mentioned dev beta with the exception of the b in other words, it’s 15S102.

Bug and security fixes, but the big features are Apple Pay Cash support (request and send money from the watch), and the ability for third party workout apps to track ski data (distance, speed, number of runs), allow HomeKit to turnoff faucets and sprinklers, and fix an issue with asking Siri for the weather and have the watch reboot.

This has made me curious about phone battery life. It’s only been two days but I swear my 7 Plus phone has had better than average battery life for typical use.

So far I’ve not found any problems with the watch. My series 2 is fast and works fine.

On a series 2, exactly the same.

Just downloaded it to my watch about a half hour ago. I will post tomorrow after using it for a day and see how it performs.

It seems to me like typical use has improved watch and phone battery life.

Apparently it made the animations on the S3 smoother according to a friend.
