You can get animated wallpapers. Just only on a jailbroken iPhone.

Had a Nexus One live wallpaper running on my iPhone 4 not too long ago.

The extra battery drain actually wasn't that bad.

The spinning galaxy one is cool. I'd like to see a much better port of the Android version, though. But the one on Cydia is pretty cool.

Here's a cool one I just found at the PreCentral forums. I resized it and sharpened it up a bit. It looks pixelated on here but on the iPhone it looks great, you can't tell.
