Apple to buy Facebook?

TUAW has a fascinating article pondering the completely unsubstantiated concept that Apple, with it's $51 Billion in cash might consider buying Facebook, valued at $25-30 Billion.

Just because Zuckerberg and Jobs had dinner doesn't mean they are going to merge! I think Facebook has far bigger ambitions than to be acquired.

Partnership rather than merger would be better in this case I think. More innovation occurs when companies are independent. Apple needs to buy ARM. And control the mobile chipsets of the future.

well, though I trust Jobs, but I don't believe Apple will buy Facebook, it's a company business, buy Facebook will cost Apple too much...

Well with that data center, something is going on.

If Apple wants to buy out a social network, they should buy out Myspace, shut down everything but the music section and improve it- Apple style.
