I tried pockettweets (i didn't know any better :p ) then tweetie and now twitterfon. Twitterfon seems to do it all and is easy to use and shows me my new tweets first. Is there an app you think works better? I love that twitterfon uploads directly to twitpic within the same application since I post pictures fairly often.
Has anyone seen a down of twitterfon side yet?
Just looking to get the max out of my twitter/iphone experience :D

I've tried them all, even all the paid versions, and Tweetie is the one I stuck with. Twitterfon is the best free option, though.
I've used Tweetie, Twittelator Pro and TwitterFon. I like TwitterFon the best for me. Of course, Tweetie maybe have improved, and I'm just not aware of that.
Tweetie is the best but you have to pay for it. TwitterFon is another really good free app.

I have been playing around with Twittelator Pro lately. Got notification that they had an update to install so did that today. I am going to be using this instead of Tweetie from now on. I really like it so far. Lots of options and features. It is more expensive than the others, though.
Would love to see a side by side comparison of this and Tweetie...maybe a "Round Robin" of sorts for the Twitter...I'm looking at you Forum App Reviewers... :D
That does look nice, but I don't need to purchase a third Twitter app. Already bought Tweetstack, which also looked nice. Unfortunately, I'm about to go add it to the list of apps that won't run on the 3.0 beta.
I really like TwitterFon. -- Its design is very simple but straightforward, its quick to update and it supports inserting photos from phone. :)
That is a good idea. I would be interested in seeing this, too.
I'm betting they will update it so it can work, but the question is when will they do it? Ive been comparing a few lately and this one I am finding I like the best.

I thought TweetDeck for the iPhone was going to be the Mecca but I still like Twitterfon better. I've used Twitterific too. It's not bad.
Which app let's u set up custom Tweet feeds to filter out people who tweet too much? Do any of the iPhone apps do this? Tweetdeck on my PC does....

IMO TweetDeck would be the best if it had landscape mode for typing tweets..

If you want free, try Tweetdeck or TwitterFon. However, Twitterfon has ads now and it's annoying. It's worth it to pay for Twittelator Pro or Tweetie.

Well, I've tried all the free ones. Didn't like any of them. Most of the ad space is too big.

After all these paid and free apps, the one that is the nicest looking, easiest to use, and fastest is Twitterific Premium. You can set this one up to have multiple clicks on a person's avatar to do different things. If you click inside the tweet, the links are highlighted for you. Replies to you, direct messages to you, and your posted tweets are all different colors so they are easy to spot.
Getting to the preferences is easy, and setting them is easy. It's not overly complicated like Twittelator Pro, which is buggy for me. The only things Twitterific Premium are lacking is a landscape keyboard and the ability to see your followers and who you are following. These are coming in a later update.
I would suggest trying out Twitterific free version for a while and see what I mean. I started out with that one, but the ad space was too big for my liking.
Now on the laptops I have, Tweetdeck is the easiest to use, even on my Macbook.
Blu, from These guys is simply the best one for the desktop that I've used. Period. However, for some reason, the last update won't render correctly on my screen.

Started out with Twitterific but it fell victim to the "Apocalypse":p. I Swithed to Twitterlater Pro and have been using it ever since. Very Nice. I have Tweet Deck on my iPhone is it is good also, but I prefer TP.
I just downloaded Twitterena and when the come out with their version 3.0 I may swithch. They are to have FB integration in the new version.:)

My favorite is Twitterena. I like the way it updates. It also has integration with twitpic and twitlonger. An update it due soon that is going to include Facebook integration as well. All this and the app is only 99 cents compared to Tweetie which is $2.99.

I really dig the newly released Birdfeed. It's simple, quick and intuitive like we all love it from Tweetie, but it has some other features such as local caching, (much) better search and some cool featured sms-style direct messaging.
There has always been many things I would like to add or change in the different twitter apps, but in birdfeed, the only features I miss, is the ability to change between portrait- and landscape mode as in the native SMS app(and many others), the ability to create shortcuts to e.x. searches and lay the shortcut in the navigator (where you also go to either timeline, direct messages or mentions ...) and at last, I would love to see the option to receive push-notification on different events (such as direct message, mentions etc. ... of course very configurable!).
How an app that will post to more than one site? I post to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. On a jailbroken phone, I'm using qTweeter. It will post the same text to Twitter and Facebook simultaneously.
I toggle between Tweetie, Twitterena, and Twitterific.

The only peeves I have with Tweetie is that you can't just toggle between landscape and portrait, you have either or, not both without going into settings.
Twitterena, it's not my favorite interface but it has a LOT of features.
Twitterific seems to be what I've been going with lately. It's got multiple @replies and everything else that I seem to want in a client and it's free (I can deal with an ad at the top).
I have yet to break down and buy Twitelator Pro.
Thats what I love about Tweetie.. I wish all my other Twitter apps would simply go right into landscape mode when I wanted to tweet.
I think after using portrait for so long, I just like using it now, haha for longer texts and tweets, i like landscape, but for quick ones, i like portrait i suppose :)
Check out iTwitter. Does push to other iTwitter clients and it's very fast pushing, yes indeedy deed. :)

There are so many Twitter apps that I have no idea which one to buy & don't want to buy one only to have to buy another.
I'm playing with the free ones - Tweet Deck, TwitterFon & Twitterific. Each has pros & cons. I find that each one has a good feature but lacks elsewhere. If only someone could take the good things from each and put them into one. THAT I would buy. :)

I have used every single twitter app out there....Seriously. Twittelator Pro, Tweetie, and Tweetdeck are the only ones worth using. They all have their own benefits and quirks but they all basically do the same thing.
So have I. Twitterific Premium is the one for me. Not too many features to get overloaded, but just right.
I've downloaded most of them but Tweetie is the one that stays on my phone.

I just deleted Tweet Deck because of all the issues it still has, despite the "update" it got last week.
Still crashes, screen becomes messed up if the phone is tilted sideways, no landscape, etc...
I'm using TweetDeck and Twitteriffic, but finding I enjoy TweetDesk the most. I started out using Tweeterfon but have stopped using it about a week ago when I started using TweetDeck almost exclusively.
Currently I only read tweets and don't comment often, still trying to get the 'feel' for it and understanding the lingo. :rolleyes:
Sounds like you may have had a corrupted copy perhaps, I haven't experienced any issues with TweetDeck (or any of the Tweeter apps I have tried). Apologize if I missed it but I'm wondering what you are using currently.

Since I got rid of Tweet Deck I re-installed Twittelator Pro to go along with Tweetie.
I really like Twittelator Pro and TweetDeck, but both tend to run into memory issues on my 3G. I prefer Birdfeed out of the light and lean crowd, but I'm currently using Tweetie since it works with Boxcar to provide push notifications of @mentions and DMs. If I could either get Boxcar to work with Birdfeed or Birdfeed to just natively support push, that would be ideal.

I've been thinking a lot about push on Twitter and realized no app will provide more than Boxcar is giving now. I don't want all thousand follows pushing.
Unless, of course, an app offered selective follow push. For instance if I wanted to get push notification only for my 3 best Twitter friends. That might be kinda cool.

That is one of the main reasons I am "stalling" on anything push right now. I want to see how everything as far as implementation shakes out.
I am with you Alli. I do not need my iPhone ringing or buzzing anymore throughout the day. If it buzzed everytime I got a Tweet or FB update! Oh my goodness! Talk about battery drain! The buzzing alone would kill it in an hour.:rolleyes:
Twitbit works awesome. It has push notifications for direct messages and mentions. The interface is great. I've used Tweetie and now Twitbit. It was worth spending money all over again. :)
Alli brilliant idea! Albeit I'm using Twitbit at present (I have Boxcar / Tweetie, too) and so far so good.
They are about to release a new version with the RT option...
I just keep my sms alerts on for twitter and that good enough push for me.
I know this is a dumb question but I'm new to Twitter. What is that RT that I see on tweets? I never knew what that meant.

Yea and you can even select which people you wanna get alerts for.
You'll see once you follow more than 50, even trying to manage them via sms becomes unweildy. There's no easy way to turn them on/off, and no way to remember who you've got turned on until a tweet comes through from them...and how do you ever remember who you forgot?
General FYI:
TwitBit has a problem with showing all of the tweets you receive.
Hopefully they can get this fixed soon.

A great thing is that the push notifications are for all direct messages and mentions, not just direct messages and mentions from other SimplyTweet users. I suggest you try the lite version first, which has no ads, just limited features (and no push). If you like it, buy the full version. Another great thing: This dev (MotionObj) ads new features like crazy. You can expect big updates to the app every week or two with great new features.

I searched and didn't find many threads about this topic. What are you guys/gals using for Twittering and other Social Networking sites? Throw up names, links, cost and reveiws.
I've used
qtweet: Loved the interface but I just couldn't bring myself to pay for something I could find a free app that would do the same thing just as well
Duo: Allows me to update twitter and facebook at once. I love this it's very simple and gets the job done
Motherfeed: I got friendfeed and Motherfeed allows me to post to both twitter and friendfeed. Again simple and gets the job done.
Pixelpipe: My all time favorite because I've added twitter, facebook, friendfeed, bloggers.com, twitpic, and flickr. Pixelpipe allows me to update friendfeed and twitter with pictures as well as all the others if I choose to so it's my number one pick for now.

If you want to update Twitter and FB together, make sure your accounts are linked, and include the #FB hashtag in your Twitter status update.
I like Twittelator Pro because it lets me use Mobypic, which in turn updates all my associated sites: youtube, Flickr, Brightkite, etc.
I like twitterific. I have Tweetie as well but it lacks some features that Twitterific provides to make it my preffered Twitter app

I use Twitterfon.
I predominately use Twitterrific Premium but I keep TwitterFon to use when I want to @ someone who's not in my immediate timeline or when I want to see who others follow. Not sure why Twitterrific doesn't do those things. Other than those 2 instances, however, Twitterrific is all I need and I'm very happy with it.
I've used both Tweetie and Twittelator Pro - must say Twittelator Pro is definitely my fav. UI is awesome!:D
I use ( and LOVE) tweetie. Just waiting for 2.0 to come out. He's holding out for some weird reason...
def Tweetie remembers where i am at which was one of the big things and the retweet option that many apps have interface is nice. another thing to note i have mine connected to facebook and twitterific would post my @replies to facebook tweetie does not and was one of the big reasons i stuck with it.
I've tried at least 6 and Tweetie is always the one I go back to. I wish it would add a counter to it though so you could be alerted to new @replies, and DMs.
TwitterFon is my favorite free app but the latest version added ads in the most distracting place. I can't use it until they fix that. It drives me nuts.
I mainly use 2 twitter clients. Twitterena is my favorite that I always end up going back to. I also use Tweetie with Boxcar for the push notifications. If it wasn't for the integration with Tweetie I wouldn't use it as often. I like the way Twitterena refreshes better than Tweetie. It has a "magical" refresh which automatically takes you to the first unread tweet. With Tweetie I'm constantly scrolling up and down to find my last read tweet.
On another note, Twitterena is suppose to be coming out with an update to Twitterena Pro that will include Facebook integration. Now if it would just also implement push it would be my one and only twitter app! :)

I tried TwitterFon, Twitterrific and Twittelator. Now I use tweetDeck and I love it!
I've been using TweetDeck on my desktop for a while now and I can't live without the groups I created so that's my obvious choice for the iPhone. From the comparison Alli posted, it seems Twittelator Pro is the only other client with groups and TweetDeck is free (and has almost all of the same features). It's a no brainer for me. After the latest update I haven't had any issues on my 3GS. I can sync my groups with their server fine now.
Twitterific shows how many tweets since the last time I loaded it, scrolls to newest tweet, it lets me post a new tweet from inside a trending topic or a search. Tweetie doesn't let me do that.
