Four American soldiers set out on the grueling ascent of an Italian mountainside in the closing days of World War II. Haunted by their evil sergeant's cold-blooded murder of a young woman and with only an old Italian man of uncertain loyalties as their guide.

Riveting account of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta.
Putting it here because Netflix has it under movies. But, it's a one season limited series or something.

...In the book another type of tool was actually used for that pivotal moment, instead of the sledgehammer shown in the film...

Hint: think Paul Bunyan...

Are you serious? That’s crazy...(laughing)...Still, it was a very good movie that made a ton of money...;)

If I recall right, I think that the reason that the film went with a sledgehammer was in part for ratings reasons, the original implement would have been too graphic supposedly.
