Youtube in control center

My daughter uses YouTube in safari not the app. Here are the steps she uses to play or replay the same song. She selects the song from YouTube starts it playing. Taps the home button once to bring her back to the home screen. Opens the control center and hits the play button to resume the song she started listening to on YouTube. Sometimes it takes more than one tap to resume but the song will eventually start to play to the end. Once the song finishes the pause button is replaced by the play button. When she taps play again it doesn't work no matter how many times she taps it. She said it use to work, but not anymore. She has an iPhone 5s. I tried it on my 6 plus with the same results. I also tried it on the YouTube app and I can't even get the song to resume play. I know many apps haven't updated to iOS 9 specs, and I expect that. Just surprised Safari is only a little better. Anyone else having this problem? Any work arounds? Thanks

If she selects "Done" before pressing the play button in the Control Center, she should be able to do what she used to in regard to this matter.

Thanks Just_Me_D. I showed my daughter what you suggested and being 15 and thinks she knows everything therefore your solution was not what she wanted control panel to do. Before she was able to pause the YouTube song while using safari, tap the home button to get to the home screen, swipe up to open control panel, tap play and hear her song. When the song was done she was able to tap the play button again to replay that same song. Unfortunately your answer did not solve that problem of replaying the song. Again thank you for your quick reply.
