I updated the YouTube app today on my iPhone 7 Black 128 GB AT&T and I noticed for the first time I could watch 1080p videos instead of just choosing 720p. This is great! I don't know if this is exclusive to the 7 or if every iPhone with iOS 10 has this option. It would be cool if it was. Anybody with an older iPhone can confirm this?

I use the YouTube website on my iPad and have always had the option to select a video resolution if available.

I have the 6s and can confirm. 1080p in all it's glory!

Don't mean to burst your bubble but you do know that the regular iPhone can't physically display 1080p right???

Even though the 6/6s/7 screen resolution is 750p, I do notice the difference in quality now that the app is 1080p. If I get a Plus model next year since it has 1080p screen resolution I will notice it even more.

I don't notice any difference in 720p and 1080p on my 6s Plus. So I keep videos set to 720p. Special occasions I may set at 1080p if I think I might view them on a large screen. 1080p and 4k take a lot of storage space.

Is 750p a new standard? Never heard of it.

1080p takes way too much space on the camera roll for everyday videos. I can't tell the difference anyway on my phone.

He meant to say there is no 750, only 720p.
But I agree. If not necessary, there is no need to shoot on higher quality.
I, personally, have enough storage on my iPhone, so mine is set to shoot at 4K at 30fps.

Ha Ha. Keyboard thought I was typing 750x1334 resolution.
