With the new Apple TV remote, will I be able to talk to it to change what I am watching?

I'm pretty excited about the new Apple TV. I heard that the new remote will allow me to change what I am watching just by talking to the remote. Is this true? Are we finally at that point in time that we can just talk to my remote and the channel changes?
