Will the Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule work for me?

I am looking to purchase a new wireless router and have seen some reviews on the Airport Extreme and seems like a good choice but would like some feeback if any of you have used it. I currently will need to connect PS4, PS3, Wii U, apple TV, Fire Stick, iPads, iPhones, Mac Mini, Macbook (down the road) and 4 windows latptops including a work laptop that I use VPN on to get to my office (not to my house). Can anyone tell me how well this plays with all the non apple devices, specifically the windows laptops. How the range is as I need very good coverage. Will the Airport work or should I look in to the Asus AC2400 or Asus AC3200 instead? Thanks to all in advance for feedback on this..

A Time Capsule model will be good for backing up any Mac(s)... otherwise, it will function just like and as well as any other similarly spec'ed wireless device.
