Will my Visual Voice Mail carry over when I switch phones?

Not sure which category this should be posted under...

Have an iPhone 6 with Verizon.

Contemplating selling the 6 right now to maximize my return on it. Have a spare MotoX I could use until the 7 is out.

I have some voice mails that I don't want to lose. Will I lose them if I activate the MotoX on the account for a month or so until the 7 comes out? The voice mails have carried over each iPhone I gotten, just wondering if I switch to the dark side for a month if they will be lost. I'll wait if they will be deleted.

It depends, most likely you are fine. Probably you have visual voice mail from Verizon and THEY have the messages, and they will carry over. You can, and should check with Verizon on this. If however you are using an app for visual voice mail then your mileage may vary depending on the app. Again you need to check. But in this case with the vendor of the app. The one I use which is more of a service than an app, YouMail, would be fine.

Verizon does, indeed, handle voicemail. It's always carried over for me.
