Will Animal Crossing: New Horizons have new villagers?

So many exciting changes are coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch, we can't help but wonder what new things are in store. While we are glad to see some of our favorite animal villagers return, we haven't heard much about any new additions.
