I’d like to present my new App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Wigemo

The App is a Maps App with a connection to Wikipedia. You can save, categorize and manage all your favorites places and locations within the App.

The App can be used to save, organize and manage all the places and locations which are importent for you.

These can be organized in groups/lists, they can have a "visited" status, and you can show/hide all places on the Map (as configurable pins) based on the list and the visited state, so you can hide all the stuff you're currently not interested in.

Because Wikipedia knows a geo coordinate for almost everything which can have one, the connection to Wikipedia allows to search for all places and locations for which articles exist (either by search term or to find places which are near a certain reference point).

This is great for exampe to plan the next vacation. You can easily find sights and intersting places you may want to visit and see these on a map and you have the background information (the Wikipedia article) at hand with just a tap.

The App also uses the normal POI search via Apple Maps, which in general finds other places than Wikipedia, so this is a good combination.

The App supports many maps and map styles. The Apple Maps and OpenTopoMap are available by default, much better and more detailed Maps (from Mapbox) are avialble via additional subscription, and there's an option to add any number or Tile Servers for Raster Maps for even more Maps (there are free and commercial providers of Tile Servers that can be used).

The App can import places and locations from many different sources and file formats and from other Apps and can also export these in different formats.

Almost all features of the iPhone app are also available on the Apple Watch (though there are limits on the Watch) Especially for the Apple Watch "normal" maps apps are rare, so this App might be interesting for users of the Apple Watch
