hey all,
my iphone 5 has the wifi/bluetooth greyed icon, unavailable wifi/bluetooth can be repaired in the US... if so, any idea of cost?

Have you tried rebooting? If so, another option is; Go into Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Hope that helps ya! :)

Is it still under warranty? Apple switched one for me for the same problem.

If it's a software issue and you're out of warranty, then do a full restore via iTunes. This WILL wipe all data from the device, and reload the OS from a new download off of the Apple servers. If you have not yet updated to 7.1.2, you will be updated.

Someone indicated that it's a software issue. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try anyway.

Since you're out of warranty, Apple won't replace your phone for free, and doing a full restore (and set up as a new device to ensure no corrupted settings are restored) is a free fix you can do yourself. Depending on the amount of content you have, putting that back on may take a few hours, overnight is a good time to do that. :)
