Wifi calling on iPad

Does wifi calling on an iPad require the iPad to be a cellular model or does it work with wifi only models

My assumption is it only works with cellular iPads (with a SIM card) but not sure

Can anyone confirm this

WiFi calling, as the name suggests, is an internet based way of calling using your carrier. It doesn’t matter if this is wether on cellular data or wifi. Therefore it doesn’t matter if your iPad is or isn’t a cellular model.
