Why won't my ITunes account recognize my Ipod

I just spent a good hour and a half with ITunes support trying to gain access to the ITunes store and updating/reinstalling the damn thing and now ITunes won't recognize my Ipod. I have already updated my drivers, used a different cord, blew into the Ipod and tried sacrificing a bag of Doritos with some pretentious overpriced food.
Please, will someone be my hero??

Since you mentioned ‘drivers’, I assume you’re using a Windows computer. With that in mind, can you tell us which iPod model you’re trying to get Windows to recognize?

Is the USB port on your computer operable?

Have you tried using a different cable to connect your iPod to your computer?

Which Windows version are you running?

Are you certain the iPod isn’t damaged, either by liquid or electricity?
