Why won't my iMessages send?

When I try to send a iMessage, it says that it is not delivered but some people still get the text. Then I also receive iMessages as Text messages. I have tried to turn my iMessage on and off and also reset the network settings and nothing will work.

Please go to Settings, Messages. At the top of the page, ensure that iMessage is toggled on. That must be on, or all your messages will be sent & received as standard SMS.

You might also have "send as SMS" turned on when sending iMessages. This feature is mainly used when you or the recipient are in a low network area and still wish to be able to message each other.

You may also need to toggle it on if you're having difficulty getting iMessages through.

It's also possible that its an issue on the recipients end. If their coverage isn't the greatest the iMessage will convert to a standard SMS.
