Why use QuickOffice?

I want to throw something out there, I am somewhat looking for opinions or possible answers

I recently got quickoffice, and I am not quite sure I understand the full point of it. I mean the process of creating them from begining to end I understand, just not the editing of already created documents.

The only ways to get the documents to your iPhone is by setting up a Wifi connection between you iPhone & your Mac/PC or by connecting the iPhone to MobileMe. The issue I am seeing here is - if you have to go to your computer to get you docuuments to your iPhone for editing.... why not just use your laptop or PC to edit them?

I am greatly surprised that QuickOffice has not created any other way of obtaining documents on your iphone (somewhat like readdleDocs does). I think it would be profitable to them if you could "e-mail documents to the app" via a server intermediate of some sort, like ReaddleDocs does.

I am sorry to rant, I am just seeing if I share the same opinion with anyone.

I see it your way. I haven't bothered to get QuickOffice - or any other office suite - for that reason. Until you can move docs around, or sync them like photos, it's pointless.

I think Quickoffice is great. I don't really run into a problem with loading docs. Most of my Docs are sav to iDisk anyway so that works out great for me.

Hey Josh. You are not the first one who has suggested that. But it would be nice to be able to deal with documents without needing a MobileMe subscription!

Right, it makes the app more expensive in a sense (not saying docs to go doesn't)

The desktop component of Docs to Go seems good enough for now. I figure it was a well spent $4.99.

yeah i think that app is meant for idisk users. I won't dl the app anyway because I still agree that if I am going to type out something in a word processor I am going to do it on my laptop.

I got the D2G Exchange App & have really enjoyed it, now I can finally edit docs on the go.

Out of curiosity, is there anyway for someone other than yourself to send a document to your mobileme account so that you can retrieve it?
