It was not necessary on sister site Crackberry, for me. What is the difference?

Also, probably not worth starting a thread, but, does anyone think 'obsoleting' is ok to use interchangeably with 'make obsolete'? So far, have not found anyone.

We used to have it, but at some point we turned it off. I don't recall why.
