Why isn't my iPhone calendar displaying any calendar items beyond one month back?

My iphone calendar is not displaying any calendar items beyond one month back.

Cannot see any calendar items that are more than 30 days old. The items are not lost or erased - just not displaying. I share my calendar with my family and they can still see the old calendar items, but I can't on my iphone.

Open the Settings app, scroll down and tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", scroll down, under Calendars tap "Sync", change your preference to more than 1 month.
