Why isn't my iPhone 5 home button working properly when I wake up my phone?

why my iphone 5 home button not work properly when i wake up my phone

some times what happens when i used to wake up my iphone 5 from home button it doesnt wake up but when i press power button it wakes up instantly is there any problem or i have to use the power button

Note the location of the "sleep/wake" button via the attached diagram...
