Why isn't iMessage not letting me get texts from my friend?

I can easily send messages to my friend but she never gets them. And she's been sending me texts but I never get them

Does your friend have an iPhone with iOS 5 or later? Is your friend connected to the Internet and/or have a wireless plan with her device? Is iMessage enabled on her device, if she has an iPhone? Finally, is it possible that your friend is pretending to not receive your messages as well as pretending to send you messages?

If your friend is sending you text messages, you should be receiving them whether iMessage or SMS. Do you have any problems texting with other people? Does your friend use an iPhone? If you want us to help, we need more information. Is she a new friend?
