Why is my thumb print not working

When I tap on add finger print this is the message I get 'unable to complete Touch ID set up please go back and try again '

1. Reboot the device.
2. Clean the TouchID / Home button of grease, dust and other debris.
3. Wash your hands.
4. Try to register a fingerprint via the TouchID setup.

Exactly as the person prior to me said, you can also add the same finger as a additional print so as to help with the reading on the sensor.
