Why is my phone doing this?!

I just got a new iPhone 6s and I plugged it up to my computer for my iCloud to update and it said backup so I backed it up so I could get all my photos and everything back but it was from my iPod from 2010...and now my phone has a white screen saying updating iCloud settings and it has been "updating" for about 30 minutes now and I can't do anything on my phone and I don't know what to do. Help please

Welcome to iMore! You may need to restore your phone. You don't need to plug your phone to your computer to back it up to iCloud. Just go to Settings /> iCloud > back up.
You need to erase all content and Settings. Then set it up with an iCloud back up if you have one. If not, set it up as new
