Why is my new home screen weird?

I just updated my phone to iOS 11. Every time I go to open my phone the lock screen fades in from black/ inverted colors. I really hate this!! Is there anything I can do to disable this feature?!?!

What do you mean when you state that it "fades in from...."? Anyway, try rebooting your "phone" or resetting all settings.
