why is my iphone5c not charging n staying dead ?

my iphone5c has been off for about a month due to various reasons, the screen is staying black and has been on the charger for more than 4 hours. My phone charger is working and so is the wall plug because ive plugged it into other phones. what could it be?

The 5c is fairly new but it still could be a battery issue but I'm gonna say it might be lint clogging your charging port. Try cleaning out your port with something soft like a tooth pick

Where was it being stored? If it was anywhere really hot or really cold, that could of possibly damaged the battery?

Was it around any liquid including humidity?

Have you tried perhaps finding another outlet or plug to try just in case?
