Why is my iPhone producing different colours?

So I got my iPhone5 yesterday and the display quality is really bad and I went through the settings and nothing seemed to help which made me think it was an LCD problem. First of all there are vertical lines while I slide across the screen. The drop shadow on the applications tiles are really obvious and look out of order. The contrast seems to be really high even thought all the contrast settings are turned down.

Definitely a hardware issue. I think you will need to replace the screen of your iPhone.
