Why is my iPhone 5s asking for a 6 digit code?

iphone 5s asking for a 6 digit code

I bought a 5s from a friend of mine which was re-set now it is asking for a 6 digit code my friend only ever used a 4 digit code which i have.. can anyone help..

That's how the new iOS is. I don't think you can reduce it to 4 digits either. And it's just a mater of days for you to get use to it.

You can make it 4 digit if you prefer. I did. It should give that option.

You only get the option to change the format during setup when it asks you to enter a new code.

Go to Settings > Touch ID and Passcode > enter your 4 digit code >
Tap change passcode

Enter passcode
Tap passcode options
