MarineW67, you posted in a thread about the iPhone 5S. You didn't state you have the 5s but presumably you do. That iPhone model was released in 2013. In terms of the life of tech, the 5s is the equivalent of the era of black and white movies, maybe having to turn the crank on your car to get it started
As Just_me_D and Annie_M stated, this is past updating. App makers, both Apple and third party, are not doing interop testing of newer app versions with the 5s. That is that for all time. But there is a much bigger point. A smartphone that is beyond updating isn't a security concern, it is a full blown unlocked and open door security hole. What your smartphone contains is fairly described as the most personal and private of information imaginable. I
strongly urge you to not use a device that is beyond SW updating. Whatever you think you are saving by getting another year from the device will be more than if the data on your phone gets into the
very wrong hands. Unfortunately if the device has been on the internet and isn't security patched, information on the phone has already made it to the outside world. Probably not a concern but I would consider at minimum changing passwords to websites you use for business or personal.
