Why is my iPad Mini: Loaded iOS 8.0.2. using iBooks and iBooks shuts down after reading a few pages?

iPad Mini: Loaded iOS 8.0.2. using iBooks and iBooks shuts down after reading a few pages.

In addition to shutting down it does not return me to the last page read. Also the :little wheel" continues to spin in the upper right corner indicating I'm downloading something. Will not stop spinning.

I don't why, but I've read several threads of people having difficulty getting iBooks to work correctly after installing iOS 8. iBooks works as it should on my iPhone 5 and I can't duplicate the problem you're having, unfortunately. All i can recommend is for you to restore and set up as new.
