Why has my iPhone 5C stopped receiving emails?

iPhone 5C stopped receiving emails. iPad still receives mail

I get a connection to the server failed cannot get mail. This started on 4/8

Do any of the following:

1. Reboot your iPhone 5C
2. Reset the network settings
3. Delete the email account from the device and then reconfigure it.
