Why don't I have any service on my iPhone that I just got?

reiceved new i phone yesterday no service on the phone!!

new phone has no service and not sure why did the get started now expecting phone to work..

If you received it sent to you directly by a carrier unless you request almost all carriers for security will not send it ready to use and activated leaving that 5 min job up to you.

You might have to call the carrier to have it activated, what carrier is it?
