Why doesn't apple come out with a throw back model. to celebrate Steve Jobs first iphone?

With the same design of the 1st , but of course better cpu and A8 chip, better camera, but a phone that looks and feels like the first iphone. Have that old school feel. i still use my 1st iphone as a iPOD and it sill works great. IT would be so awesome

With the trend being thin with a large screen, how many people would actually be interested in purchasing an iPhone in the form of the original? I wouldn't be interested. On a side note, I stated a few years back that if RIM/Blackberry were to create a blackberry device in the form of the old 7290, but with today's specs, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, and I would have a few years ago, but I doubt I'd do it now.

Blackberry did this with the 9000 and their calling it "The Classic", nice looking device I might add.

The iPhone 6 is pretty close to the OG iPhone already IMO. We don't need that hideous black bottom any more.

I AGREE, IM SAYING make the same design but slim like the iphone 6 but have that retro backing. and they could do away with the black bar at the bottom. I miss the old you tube icon and the ipod icon..just think it would be a cool throwback model for people like me who love stuff like that. I still love the design of the 1st iphone.

I'm not keen on the idea, OP. When it comes to tech I'm not into old tech....or I'd still be using a BlackBerry with pooched apps.

I don't think anyone would buy that honestly. Anything less than a 4" screen has become tiny. Plus, if I wanted to use an OG iPhone, I could just go pick one up on eBay (which I'm looking at right now) for $150.
