My sons 5s had the same thing, but several vertical lines. Took it into Apple and they replaced the screen. Problem solved under warranty luckily. My suggestion is take it in as it is most likely your screen that is the problem.

I agree, this is common if your screen is defective and may be covered under warrantee.
