Why does my iPad Air take more than 12 hours to charge?

iPad Air takes more than 12 hours to charge!

I have a brand new iPad Air. It is taking about 12 hours to charge from 50% to full. I am using only the cables and charger that came with the iPad. Since I have an iPhone 4, I cannot possibly confuse the cables! The charger is only a 10w, but it is the one they sent. I know it has a big battery, but I find 12 hours to go from 50% to 100% battery charge ridiculous!

You might want to make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them check it out. It shouldn't take half a day to charge your iPad from depletion to full, let alone from 50%.

Just_Me_D is correct, I've never had any iPad take that long to charge.

I did, recently on my trip, with my iPad Air 2.
So I turned off all the background apps and did a soft rest and it got back to normal.
