Why does Apple still include a USB to Lightning cable with their new iPad?

Re: Included cable with new iPad

Because most of their consumers do not have a laptop or their newest MBP with all usb-c ports. Most people still use laptops with actual ports.

Yeah I do get that most people still have usb ports, but isn't Apple as a company shying away from theses ports and pushing everyone to usb-c.
Wouldn't they force more adoption if iPads/iPhone had usb-c cables.
Also then at what stage would it be the right time to include usb-c with the i devices, would it be the same time as the surface line rolls out with usb-c ports?

Because the backlash of them changing ports will be the iPhone 5 all over again. Oh no, I can’t plug in my iPhone to my treadmill anymore, therefore... APPLE DOOMED!!! scrolls across the headlines for months and months. I still see some articles throwing shade at the iPhone 7 for not having the 3.5 mm jack... Ugh, they’ll never let that one go. If they leave it the way it is, then Pros have the “option” to charge faster, so it’s not mandatory for normal customers to make the switch. They have to be careful with absolutely everything they do when it comes to switching ports, or else APPLE DOOMED!!!
