Why do I get an error message on my iPad Air 2 while updating tot OS 8.1.1?

Error message on iPAD AIR 2 while updating tot OS 8.1.1

I got myself today a new iPAD AIR 2. I reinstalled everything from my old iPAD by the iTunes copy. When trying to update the OS to 8.1.1, I get an error message that the bootdisk is full, on my iPAD is still nearly 48 GB free. What to do ?

are you doing the update via iTunes or OTA?
