Why do 27 inch iMac photos appear smaller than 21.5 Photos?

iMore Question

Yesterday in a store I had a 27" iMac beside a 21.5". I went to trip advisor to compare photos on the two iMacs. Strangely, a lot of the pictures were inches smaller on the bigger 27"? Why? My guess is that some of the pictures with lower resolution, ie taken with poorer cameras, like a 4 mega pixel, just appeared smaller on the bigger screen. Do you know why? Thanks

I think most things appear smaller on a bigger screen because you have less real estate. I know things seem bigger sometimes on my MacBook Pro than on my desktop. The display resolution may have been adjusted too? You can change it to have more space on the screen (effectively making items smaller) or zoomed in.
