I can't share my old aperture pics in iPhoto

I have an aperture library that I imported into iPhoto but when I try to share it says it doesn't have the permissions, and asks to navigate to the picture location which I can't do because it's stored within the photo library. Any ideas on how to solve this?

According to Apple, "iPhoto ? and Aperture, if you downloaded it ? remains on your system in the Applications folder, and you can continue to use it. If you open iPhoto or Aperture after you upgrade to Photos, you?ll be asked if you want to open your library there or in Photos.
Any changes or edits you make in iPhoto or Aperture aren't reflected in Photos. And any changes or edits you make in Photos will not be reflected in iPhoto or Aperture."

I take that to mean that you can still use Aperture to share your pics, but hopefully someone who has done what you've done will reply soon to either confirm or deny my assumption.
