Why can't I see number of texts I have on the home screen

I can't see number of texts I have in the home screen
Please help

If you are referring to the badge on the Messages app (the number in the red circle), you just have to head over to Settings-Notifications-Messages and set on the switch for displaying the badge (Badge App Icon). Here's an Apple guide about notifications: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201925
