Why can't I move the text icon to the very bottom permanent spot on my iPhone 6s

I like to have my most used icon on the bottom of the phone so I can access then no matter what page my phone is on at the time.

What "text icon" are you referring to? Whatever the app, you should be able to tap and hold on it until they all jiggle, and then move it to the preferred spot mentioned above.

If you are speaking of the "dock", move an app out of the dock first, then move the "text" app down. The dock doesn't shift as easily as others.

This is my home screen which I find having mail, msgs both on the dock.

They go well with settings and phone.

You can use a folder in the dock if neccessary. I do.

I do too for common apps (settings, App Store, notes, etc.), but messaging stays out on its own.
