why can't i facetime a contact from my ipad mini when i can from my iphone?

i facetime my sister using my iphone but when i try to facetime her using my ipad mini ican't. In CONTACTS her email address just has the message icon. No facetime icon.

Check in contacts the details of your sister and make them equal to that of your phone.

It seems like your sister has only enabled FaceTime for her phone number and not her mail address
