Why can't I add my att email account due to verification problem with yahoo?

I cannot add my att email account due to verification problem with yahoo

I've tried to set up an att account but it says I need to verify my yahoo account by signing in. I log on but nothing happens then to actually verify the account. i've had the account and never had a problem.

Do you need an app specific password with that account. Sorry I have never had an AT&T account so not really sure.
