Why can't I access the new iCloud backup?

setting up new I pad can't access latest iCloud back up. Says not compatible old 8.1.1 me is 8.0.2

Just backed up old I pad 2 on iCloud using latest update 8.1.1 The new I pad uses 8.0.2 and the ipad brings up the back ups but won't allow me to select it, saying not compatible.

Update the iPad's iOS to the latest available, then restore the back-up.
