Why can I access my iPod Touch 4's internal storage (while it is locked) on my computer?

iMore Question

When I plug in my jail-broken iPod to my computer (Windows Vista) while it is locked I can access it's photo contents by going to Computer and finding my iPod under portable storage devices and by following through the folders until I reach the photos. This is strange as I know the internal storage in these devices in general can seen if the device is unlocked. Is there any way to disable this so no one can have access to my photos without it being unlocked? This is a nuisance to me as anyone can have access to my photos if I lose my device.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

An iPhone that's not jailbroken will not allow this. Since your iPhone is jailbroken, it is allowing certain security features to be bypassed. I'm not sure if it's just the specific version of the jailbreak or if that's how it always is. Hopefully someone with more info on what to do will respond.
