emails to get permission for app purchases not being sent/received

i just set up the ask your parent permission for app purchases on the iPad air2, the email address is a good one. the emails requiring me to give my permission are not being received on my email account. how do i test this or change the email account?

Is there a chance some mail server side spam filter is blocking them?
