why aren't my facebook notifications turning off?

basically i have an android phone and i keep on seeing facebook notifications right next to my app icon with the little '1' or '2' or however many notifications i have THAT I DO NOT WANT. i have removed notifications from my android settings altogether as well as facebook and i keep receiving them.it worked fine a few weeks ago, but ever since your last patch, i am seeing the new notifications.

i am also getting push notifications for people liking my page in addition to the notifications next to my app icon. I SPECIFICALLY SAID i dont want notifications and the other posts regarding this dont help me solve my issue.

do you have any suggestions for how to turn it off?

On my Android I use an app called Simple to access Facebook. You don’t even need to install messenger with this app. The official FB app consumes a lot of battery and resources. You can save up to 20% battery by removing the official app and using an app like Simple. I paid for pro to remove ads. Then you can configure notifications to your liking and it should work as you want it.
