Why are text messages sent to my sister’s Android phone blue, as if they are iMessages?

When I send a text to my sister who has an android phone, it still shows up blue as if it were an iPhone. And she does NOT get the messages! I have checked the contact info for her and it didn’t say iPhone it said mobile. I can’t figure out what is wrong. When I look back at the history of messages to her for the last month or so, several are green but a lot more are blue. She did tell me that she has a T-Mobile account and that the phone number used to be associated with an iPhone account. Would that matter at all? Also, my other sister who has an iPhone has the same problem.

Any idea what we can do? Thanks.

It could be possible that she never turned off iMessage when she went over to Android.

This is the page she has to go on to unregister. Also make sure when your selecting her number, it’s actually her mobile. I was texting my mom for over a week and didn’t realize my iPhone was automatically selecting her desk phone at work.
