Why are some apps taking 2 hours to download? (or very long)

I deleted my Messenger and I tried to download it again, but it stays on "waiting" for a long time. I did it through the computer iTunes and it says that it takes 2 hours to download. I have also chosen to update my apps and now Skype is also stuck on that process.

App Store could be having issues. Or something else on the Apple server side?
