Why am I not getting the blue dot for unread text messages?

Someone will send me a text and I will get notified, it won’t show a dot for unread texts. I’ll go back to text the person to find out they sent one I never knew about. Happens quite often. DND is not on either

Did the person who sent you the text use an iPhone or an Android device?

iPhone. Sometimes notify me and some time not. It’s weird

This was an issue that was fixed with the latest 14.3 software update. Make sure you’ve updated.
