Why am I not able to text after switching from iPhone to LG3?

I switched from iPhone to LG3 and now text doesn't work. I did turn off messaging on iPhone

I switched from iPhone to LG3 and now text doesn't work. I did turn off messaging on iPhone. How do I fix this? I use a iPhone on Verizon and a LG3 on AT@T. Now I cannot receive text from anyone with a iPhone. I thought that by my turning off messaging before I made the switch this should not have happened.

You will have to sign out of imessage on the iphone.

You have to remove the iPhone from your apple account through iCloud.com
